about k8

Wilkes Barre based singer/songwriter Kate Hearity (performing as "k8"- pronounced, "k ai t") has been telling stories through music all her life. Influenced by artists like The Indigo Girls, Brandi Carlile, and Kacey Musgraves, k8's music has been described as "folk rock with the occasional country flair."

Since releasing her critically acclaimed debut original EP, "Something Out of Nothing" in 2004, k8 has performed prior to national artists including Stevie Nicks, John Waite, Survivor, and Brooks and Dunn.  She also appeared on the MTV Books Release, Lit Riffs (The Soundtrack), and was featured in a national Days Inn commercial singing "Keep on the Sunny Side" which aired in both television and radio formats from 2004-2008.

Like so many songwriters before her, k8 briefly lost her way and opted to take a break from the music.  It was a fateful trip to Nashville in 2015 that would bring this artist back to life- and there are no signs of slowing her down. This sassy singer/songwriter is always writing and performing- and dreaming of her next record.  We think it's time you heard it.

"In the dark in the corner, if you listen real close, you might hear the sound of a song."
